READY214 is an organizational and educational tool. It does not provide legal, medical, or claims-representation services, and using it does not create any professional relationship. Nothing on this site is a substitute for a VA-accredited representative, a physician, or an attorney. Reading a guide here does not make anyone your agent, and sending a message does not make anyone your lawyer.

READY214 is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, or any government agency. Filing a VA disability claim is always free, whether you do it yourself through VA.gov or through an accredited Veterans Service Organization. Anyone charging you a percentage of your back pay to file an initial claim is not doing something READY214 endorses.

Nothing here guarantees any rating, benefit, effective date, or result. Every claim turns on its own facts, its own evidence, and the judgment of the rater who reads it. Rating criteria, pay tables, and presumptive lists change. Always verify against VA.gov before you act, and consider an accredited VSO, claims agent, or attorney for your own claim.

Guides cite 38 CFR Part 4 and other public sources, and are checked against the eCFR text when written. Regulations are amended, sometimes retroactively, and this site can lag. Where READY214 and VA.gov or the eCFR disagree, the official source is correct and READY214 is wrong. If you spot something out of date or simply incorrect, please report it. Corrections are the most useful message this project receives.

Use READY214 for your own claim preparation, or to help a veteran you are assisting. Do not attempt to access another person’s account or data, probe or disrupt the service, scrape it at volume, or resell access to it. Do not present its output as an official VA determination to anyone.

Anything you enter, whether conditions, notes, symptom logs, or uploaded documents, remains yours. READY214 claims no ownership of it and does not sell it. You can export everything as JSON or delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings; deletion is immediate and irreversible. The site’s own text, guides, and code remain the property of READY214.

READY214 is a free service run by one person. It is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, and may be unavailable, interrupted, or discontinued at any time. Do not rely on it as the only record of a deadline that matters to your claim: keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose, and confirm every date with VA.gov.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, READY214 is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site, including a missed deadline, a denied or reduced claim, or a decision made in reliance on anything published here. The responsibility for what is filed with the VA, and when, rests with the veteran filing it.

Ads fund the site and are labeled as ads. They never appear inside a claim workflow, and a standing blocklist excludes predatory categories: unaccredited “claims consultants” who take a cut of back pay, benefit-buyout and pension-advance lenders, and miracle-cure products. An advertisement on READY214 is not a recommendation, and READY214 is not responsible for what an advertiser does.

These terms may be updated as the site changes. The revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and continued use after a change means the updated terms apply.
